Community Forums and Focus Groups
The San Francisco Community Journalism Project will hold three community meetings this fall.
The first meeting Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. will include a panel of community activists and experts addressing clean up of the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, emissions from the PG&E power plant, health concerns related to environmental pollution and community mobilization efforts.
The second meeting Wednesday Oct. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. will focus on residents organizing around specific environmental issues.
The third meeting Wednesday Nov. 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. will be a continued organizational meeting. Here residents will report to each other how they will proceed as they mobilize the community.
Journalism students will write about each of the meetings. Their stories will be published on the project Web site and in the San Francisco Bayview newspaper.
